What on earth is happening? U.S. media has a huge fetish with blonde women and it's reaching the point of disgust for me. I was already getting irritated with there being so many blonde women, on magazines and television, because it was implying something, and now others are turning blonde. Why on earth must you be blonde to be "Really Big"? Not just blonde even, but also tooth-pick skinny along with it? Lindsay Lohan was a healthy, pretty, redhead with a personality. Now she's a dyed-blonde, toothpick, with freckles that seem awkward, because freckles go so well with red hair [^_~].
And now it's Kelly Clarkson with blonde hair. Okay, here's my story with her. I didn't really mind her that much after she won AI, but then came her second album and my respect for her was starting to rise. She was the original American Idol that Did become famous, Has a career in music going for her, and hasn't even started to fade like the last 2 Idols after her. And now that I actually like her, she's turned blonde? Nah-uh, not cool.
I'm not saying that change is bad, but change in image, in hopes of being a mega-star is ridiculous. It's setting a horrible example for people that admire and respect them. It makes it seem, more like, you have to have long, straight or flowing curled hair, that's a light colour, preferably Blonde, a light complexion, and a list of majour shopping bills that are out of this world, in order to be respected and or "famous". It's completely vain and ridiculous.
With all this rubbish, you could probably name more blonde, light-skinned/"white", "famous" females than those of various hair colours and complexities. And why? Because the US has a thing for looks and it seems that the lighter you are the better. Yet if you're Albino you're screwed and shunned until Human Rights riots start up or something. And then they are quieted down and subliminal messages start up the fad again. . . I'm going back to not watching television, it always makes me upset. I kid you not. . .
